The Avengers
The Avengers is a British television show. The Avengers originally focused on Dr. David Keel and his helper John Steed. Hendry left after the first show and Steed became the main personality, partnered with a series of supporters. Steed assistants are assertive, trendy and intelligent women: Cathy Gale, Emma Peel, also later Tara King. Later episodes increasingly incorporated aspects of fantasy and science fiction, parody and eccentricity that is British.
