Perhaps their personalities that are stunningly different create the relationship between detective Jane Rizzoli and clinical examiner Maura Isles effective. While the richly dressed Maura displays a temperament that is icy, the sole real female cop at Boston's homicide branch, jane, is tough, relentless and rarely lets down her shield -- she is, after all, even convenient among the dead than the living.
