Moonlighting is an American television show that aired from March 3, 1985. The network aired a total of 66 episodes. Starring Bruce Willis and Cybill Shepherd as private detectives, the series was a blend of drama, humor, and romance, and was regarded as among the very first influential and successful examples of comedy drama, or"dramedy", emerging as a distinct television genre.
The show's theme song was performed by jazz singer Al Jarreau and also became a winner. The series can be credited with making Willis a star, while providing a critical success to Shepherd after a string of projects that were . Back in 1997, the episode"The Dream Sequence Always Rings Twice" was rated #34 on TV Guide's 100 Greatest Episodes Ever. In 2007, the show was recorded as one of Time magazine"100 Greatest shows of alltime." The relationship between David and Maddie was comprised in TV Guide's list of the television couples of time.
