Rookie of the Year
Henry Rowengartner, whose late father was a minor league baseball playerwho grew up dreaming about playing with baseball, even despite his own physical shortcomings. Once Henry's arm has been broken while wanting to catch a baseball at school, the tendon in that arm heals too closely, allowing Henry to throw pitches which are too fast as 10 3 mph. Henry is seen at nearby Wrigley Field by Larry"Fish" Fisher, the general manager of the fighting Chicago Cubs, after Henry yells an opponent's home run ball most of the way by the outfield bleachers straight back to the catcher, and it seems that Henry may function as the pitcher which team owner Bob Carson was praying for.
