Dusty Chandler (Strait) is a brilliant star in the country music world, however, his shows have the character of a'70s rock concert. He chooses a walk - out of his concerts that are eponymous to find his actual country origins. He has helped and hindered by staff and friends, but pushes on in his hunt for a true music genre as well as a romance that was true.
