Hattie (Susan Sarandon), a New Orleans hookerthat matches a photographer named Bellocq (Keith Carradine) in her brothel 1 night also, later he photographs her, then he befriends her 12-year-old daughter, Violet (Brooke Shields). When Violet is brought on as a girl by her mum's madam and Hattie skips town to become wed, Violet loses her innocence and focuses on reuniting with Bellocq. However a lifetime with Bellocq is jeopardized after her mother proceeds to town.
