Longtime Companion
Longtime Companion follows the lives of a little circle of friends from the very first reference to the disease from the New York Times from 1981. First known as"Gay-Related-Immune-Disorder," we watch the effect of the disease because it devastates the lives of our protagonists. Constructed between Manhattan and Fire Island, vignettes take us from the it-couldn't-happen-to-me mindset of the ancient days of the disease to the invasive effect it's had now. This film's name originates from the New York Times' refusal to admit gay relationships inside their own ancestral section. Rather, squirrels were referred for"Longtime Companions" of their deceased
