Jules and Jim
From the days before World War I Austrian author Jules strikes up a friendship with the Frenchman Jim that is Lush. Both men fall for the spontaneous and beautiful Catherine, but it's Jules who wins her hands. Subsequent to the war, Jim visits Jules, Catherine and their daughter within their ancestral home and discovers not only that his feelings of Catherine are unchanged, but in addition that they're reciprocated.
