Harry and the Hendersons
Returning from a hunting trip within the forest, the car of the Henderson family strikes a monster at the road. In the beginning they fear it turned into a person, however once they examine the"body" they detect it's a"bigfoot". They believe it's dead so that they opt to take it home (there may be some cash in this). As you imagined, it's not dead. Far from being the ferocious monster that they fear"Harry" to be, he's an amiable giant.
