The Outsiders, Sex and Violence intercut stories. Richie kills his father and flees in "Hero." After the event, a cheesy lurid documentary asks about Richie and the shooting. It's a horror movie in which a scientist drinks the elixir of human sexuality and becomes a murderer; a female colleague who loves him tries to help, to her danger. In "Homo," a Fontenal prisoner is drawn to an inmate he knew in Baton juvenile institute years previously and saw humiliated. Except for the brilliant flashbacks, this novel is dark.
