Deep in the Heart is a celebration of Texas' unique landscapes and remarkable species that can only be found in this state. Directed by Ben Masters, a director who has won multiple awards, the film is visually magnificent. The film examines our ever-changing interaction with the natural world and how our actions have an effect on it. It does so by narrating the story from the point of view of various animal species, ranging from the enigmatic blind catfish to the elusive mountain lion. The film, which will be narrated by the well-known Texan Matthew McConaughey, has the goals of preserving our surviving wild places and drawing attention to the significance of Texas's conservation efforts on a continental scale.
